At Great Among The Nations, our history is rooted in making history come alive.
"…For the edifying of the Body of Christ till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God…" Ephesians 4:12-13
Several providential meetings of hearts and minds led to the creation of Great Among The Nations. In 1984 Pastor Altschul met Pastor Leroy Davenport of Oklahoma. They were attending a James Robison Conference in Dallas and Bent was ministering. So impressed was Davenport, he invited Bent to Oklahoma on seven different occasions to speak at his church. Later, as word spread of his unique blessings and Pastor Altschul was invited to attend more conferences, he would meet Gilbert Barron, who was then serving as Co-pastor at the Assemblies of God Church in Tustin, California. Together, they preached and formed Bible Study groups at which Bent would often pray for healing with attendees at the conclusion of the meetings. In 1987 the three leaders formed Great Among The Nations, a support ministry to those who spread the good news of the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. Today,
thirty years later, we're just as passionate about presenting biblical truths for everyday living.
